KIDS GO FREE INTO THE WILD

On Wednesday 28th May, Trust in Widnes Members had a grrrreat day out!!

They went off on safari to Knowsley  Safari Park, all Trust Members and their children (or grandchildren!!) were invited. The Trust has been successful in gaining ‘ Community Champions’ funding which allowed the visit to be offered free of charge.

Despite some pretty wet weather, we were very lucky as it stayed dry while we completed the walking part of the tour!! However, the highlight of the visit was rather wet!! Because it was the highly entertaining sea lion show.

KINGSWAY FUN DAY

A climbing wall to practice climbing skills, a bungee run, a galleon, a ball pond, Bouncy Castle, Samba band. Various stalls including, Guess how many sweets in the jar, Guess the weight of the cake, Guess the Teddies name, Candy Floss machine, a caricature artist, games, and free bottled water. There will be 4 bikes on offer to good homes plus Widnes Vikings RLFC organised a ticket deal and offered a raffle prize.

Salford game 19th June

The club has been working in conjunction with TIW to encourage out of borough groups to experience the fabulous game of RL. So far we have organised 30 places for a new junior RL team from Huyton, around the same from Chester Gladiators RLFC, and in discussions with Wrexham RU teams, plus some none RL sports teams including an U16’s football team from Maghull in Sefton.  TIW helped with the transport costs for each group to help spread the word and develop the support base of Widnes RL

Vikings versus the Fellowship Bowling challenge

Following last years successful event, Widnes Vikings have once again accepted the challenge against members of Widnes Fellowship. Trust in Widnes are happy to be a sponsor. Hopefully our members will come along to join in the fun on Sunday 29th June from 1 to 4pm in Victoria Park, Widnes.

Coming soon………The Battle of the Bridge

As a result of the North West and Cheshire amateur divisions merging, a new tasty locally rivalry has been revived, the battle of the towns is now back!!

The inaugural game is on Saturday 19th July at St Maries ARLFC and Trust in Widnes has offered to sponsor a ‘Men of the Match’ – one from each side. After all, both teams are from the Borough of Halton.
